Outpatient Imaging Ctr / Central Plant Upgrade / Service Wing Upgrade & Expansion

The Outpatient Imaging Center is a new facility providing non-invasive imaging services on an outpatient basis. Included are MRI, CT scan, X-ray, Ultrasound, and other procedures. The facility is located just south of the Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. PDC was responsible for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems under a design-build contract.

The Central Plant Upgrade included the addition of a third 23,000 lb/hr high pressure steam boiler, and upgrade and renovation of auxiliary central plant systems including fuel storage and distribution, deaerator and feedwater, plant cooling and combustion air, and plant control systems. Design temperatures are -60 degrees F.

The Service Wing Upgrade and Expansion included a new central receiving facility, new central laundry facility and central solid waste handling facility to serve the entire hospital complex. Attached to the Service Wing was a new Emergyncy Power Module for the hospital, including distribution switchgear.
